I could have caught a proper airline that arrived at a reasonable time of day but that would cost serious money so budget wise I had the choice of Scoot which arrives in Singapore at midnight or Jetstar which arrives at 4am. With plenty of time to kill there was no hurry to get out of the airport but being the most efficient airport in the world as they are I was out of there in 10 minutes. Got the first train of the day on the MRT downtown to the Footprints Hostel, left my pack there and went touristing.

At 6am it was still an hour before sunrise, always an interesting time to be wandering round town, the Little India area where the hostel is was just waking up. I walked down to the waterfront area, I have seen it all before except the Gardens By The Bay which is relatively new, including the biggest greenhouses in the world, where there was an orchid display which was quite spectacular.
